Open Concept Kitchen Renovation with Structural Beam & Custom Island

This renovation focused on transforming the main floor into a brighter, more open living space by removing a load-bearing wall that originally separated the kitchen from the living room. A structural beam was installed to support the home while allowing the space to be opened up, creating a seamless connection between the kitchen and living area. The new layout features a completely updated kitchen with modern cabinetry, quartz countertops, and a matching quartz backsplash. A large custom island was installed using glacier granite, which catches the natural sunlight and creates a striking focal point in the center of the space.

The island also includes a built-in dishwasher, adding both convenience and functionality to the kitchen. Throughout the main floor, the existing flooring was replaced with new hardwood, while durable tile was installed in the kitchen area. Additional upgrades included new interior doors, a new front entry door with a storm door, and updated trim to give the home a clean, cohesive finish. To complete the transformation, recessed pot lights were installed throughout the kitchen and living room to improve overall lighting, along with modern pendant lights above the island that highlight the granite surface and create a warm, inviting atmosphere. The finished renovation delivers a bright open-concept layout with improved flow, updated materials, and a kitchen designed for both everyday living and entertaining.

1,100 Sq Ft Basement Renovation with Bedroom, Gym & Games Room

This project involved transforming a completely unfinished basement in the Doon neighbourhood of Kitchener into a fully functional living and recreation space totaling approximately 1,100 square feet. The finished basement now includes a comfortable bedroom, a dedicated home office, and a spacious games and entertainment area. A custom bar area was also incorporated to create a great space for hosting guests and relaxing with family and friends. A new three-piece bathroom was added featuring a modern walk-in shower, providing convenient access for both guests and family members using the basement space.

To improve safety and natural light, an egress window was also installed in the bedroom. The renovation also included the addition of a dedicated exercise room with durable rubber flooring and wall-mounted televisions, creating a practical home gym area. Throughout the basement, recessed lighting was installed to brighten the space and give it a clean, modern feel. Additional upgrades included a new stair railing, new flooring throughout the basement, and carefully designed layouts that maximize the usable space. The completed basement now serves as a versatile extension of the home, providing areas for relaxation, fitness, entertainment, work, and comfortable overnight accommodation.

Complete Main Floor Renovation with Kitchen and Bathroom Upgrade

This project involved a complete renovation of the home’s main floor, updating the space with modern finishes and improving both functionality and flow throughout the level. All existing flooring on the main floor was removed and replaced with new durable flooring, giving the entire level a consistent and updated appearance. We also replaced all interior doors and trim, creating a clean and cohesive look throughout the home. The main floor bathroom was fully gutted and rebuilt with new fixtures, finishes, and updated materials to create a more modern and comfortable space.

A major part of the renovation was the complete redesign and reconstruction of the kitchen. The old kitchen was removed and replaced with a new layout featuring modern cabinetry, updated appliances, and improved storage and workspace. The new kitchen connects more naturally with the dining area, creating a bright and functional space for everyday living and entertaining. The finished renovation completely refreshed the main floor, transforming it into a more modern, comfortable, and visually cohesive living space.

Luxury Bathroom Renovation with Curbless Shower & Freestanding Tub

This project began as a standard four-piece bathroom with an alcove tub and shower combination. To create a more spacious and functional layout, we moved one of the bathroom walls approximately five feet, expanding the room and allowing for a completely redesigned layout. The renovation included recessing the subfloor in the shower area to create a fully curbless walk-in shower, providing a sleek modern look and improved accessibility. Heated flooring was also installed throughout the bathroom to add comfort and warmth. A freestanding bathtub was added to create a relaxing focal point in the space, while floor-to-ceiling tile was installed in the wet areas for a clean, durable finish.

The bathroom also features a custom floating wood vanity with a vessel sink and wall-mounted faucets, along with a recessed wall niche for additional storage. To improve functionality and flow, two pocket doors were installed, maximizing usable space within the room. Because the bathroom expansion required taking space from the adjacent bedroom, we also framed and created a new closet for that room. The completed renovation transformed the original bathroom into a spacious modern retreat featuring high-end finishes, improved functionality, and thoughtful design details that significantly increase the value and comfort of the home.

Lakeside Cottage Framing Project on Kennisis Lake

For this project we worked as part of a construction team building a new cottage on Kennisis Lake near Lindsay, Ontario. Our role on the project focused on the structural framing of the building. When we arrived on site, the foundation had already been prepared, allowing us to begin framing the structure of the cottage.

The work included framing the exterior and interior walls, preparing the structure for the installation of the roof system, and ensuring the framing was square, level, and properly aligned for the rest of the construction process. Engineered roof trusses were then installed to form the roof structure and provide strong, efficient structural support across the building. After the framing was completed, we also installed rigid foam board insulation on the exterior sheathing, preparing the building envelope for the next stage of construction and eventual siding installation. With the structural framing complete, the cottage was ready for the next phases of construction, bringing the project one step closer to becoming a finished lakeside retreat.

Basement Transformation into a Complete In-Law Suite

This project involved transforming a partially finished basement into a fully functional in-law suite designed for comfortable independent living. The original basement only contained a small two-piece bathroom and limited finished space, so the layout was completely reworked to create a much more practical and livable environment. The renovated space now includes a full kitchen, dedicated dining area, and a comfortable living room, providing a complete living space separate from the main floor of the home.

We also built a new three-piece bathroom featuring a walk-in shower that is combined with a laundry area for convenience and efficient use of space. To improve organization and long-term usability, three separate storage areas were incorporated into the design, allowing the homeowners to keep the living space uncluttered while still maintaining plenty of storage capacity. The finished basement now functions as a private and comfortable in-law suite, providing a self-contained living space that adds both versatility and value to the home.

Full Bathroom Renovation with Soaker Tub and Custom Tile

This project involved a complete renovation of the existing bathroom, transforming the space into a more modern and functional room with updated finishes and improved layout. The original jetted tub and surrounding finishes were removed and replaced with a new soaker tub, creating a simpler and more relaxing bathing area. A built-in bench was incorporated along one side of the tub for added comfort and practicality, while a recessed soap niche was added within the tiled wall for convenient storage.

During the renovation, the existing glass block window was replaced with a new obscured glass window that provides natural light while maintaining privacy. Custom tile work was installed around the tub area to create a clean and durable finish. To enhance the overall design, a shiplap accent wall was added to bring warmth and character to the room. We also installed a pocket door, helping to maximize usable floor space and improve the flow of the bathroom. The completed renovation transformed the outdated bathroom into a bright, modern space with thoughtful details and improved functionality for everyday use.

Tub to Walk-In Shower Conversion with Custom Glass

This bathroom renovation focused on improving both the functionality and overall appearance of the space. The original alcove tub and shower were removed and replaced with a modern walk-in shower, complete with a built-in bench and a custom glass shower door that gives the room a more open and updated feel.

We installed new floor tile throughout the bathroom and added a new vanity to refresh the space and provide improved storage. Since the existing toilet was still in good condition, it was reused as part of the renovation to help keep the project efficient and cost-effective. To further modernize the room, we also skimmed the existing California knockdown ceiling to create a smooth, flat finish. The completed renovation provides the homeowners with a more accessible shower, updated finishes, and a clean, modern bathroom that will serve them well for years to come.

Asphalt Driveway Replacement with Interlocking Patio Pavers

This project involved replacing an aging asphalt driveway with a new driveway constructed using interlocking patio pavers. The driveway was also widened to comfortably accommodate two vehicles, improving both functionality and everyday convenience for the homeowners. To help support the new layout and manage the change in elevation along one side of the driveway, a retaining wall was built using pressure-treated 6x6 timbers.

The retaining wall provides structural support while also creating a clean and defined edge along the driveway. The new interlocking paver driveway significantly improved the curb appeal of the property, giving the front of the home a more polished and attractive appearance. The upgraded exterior played an important role in increasing the overall appeal of the house, helping the homeowners successfully sell the property shortly after the work was completed.

Backyard Patio & Pool Access Upgrade

This backyard upgrade was designed to create a more functional and welcoming space for family gatherings and summer entertaining. We installed a large concrete patio pad to provide a durable and level foundation for a metal gazebo the homeowners had purchased, which we also assembled and installed. The new patio area creates a comfortable space where family and friends can gather, relax, and enjoy the backyard together.

To improve safety and accessibility, we also built a set of sturdy steps leading up to the above-ground pool. This provides much more stable and convenient access compared to traditional pool ladders, making it easier for both family members and guests to enter and exit the pool. The finished space offers a solid, low-maintenance surface around the pool and a shaded seating area under the gazebo, giving the homeowners a backyard that’s better suited for entertaining larger groups and enjoying time outdoors throughout the summer.

Expanded Concrete Driveway & Front Entry Walkway

For this project we removed the existing asphalt driveway and replaced it with a new poured concrete driveway that was widened to comfortably accommodate up to four vehicles. The expanded layout provides significantly more parking space and makes it easier for the homeowners and their guests to access the property. In addition to the new driveway, we installed a curved concrete walkway leading from the driveway to the front door.

This creates a more welcoming and practical entrance while improving the overall curb appeal of the home. The finished project gives the homeowners a durable, low-maintenance concrete driveway with improved functionality, better parking capacity, and a clean front entry path that ties the whole front yard together.

Basement Bathroom Addition with Walk-In Shower & Heated Floor

This project involved adding a new three-piece bathroom to an unfinished basement, helping prepare the space for a future in-law suite planned by the homeowners. The bathroom was designed to be both comfortable and functional, featuring a walk-in shower, modern fixtures, and a heated tile floor for added warmth and comfort. A bathroom exhaust fan was also installed to provide proper ventilation and help control humidity.

To protect the basement from potential moisture issues, we also installed a new sump pump and completed waterproofing work around the foundation. These improvements help ensure the basement remains dry and provide a solid foundation for the homeowners’ future basement development plans. With the new bathroom now complete, the basement is one step closer to becoming a fully finished in-law suite. The work completed during this phase not only improves the home’s functionality today but also adds long-term value by preparing the space for future living accommodations.

Basement Laundry Room Rough-In & Main Floor Mudroom Conversion

This project focused on relocating the home’s laundry area to the basement while converting the existing main floor laundry room into a more practical mudroom space for a young family. In the basement, we completed the rough-in work required for a future laundry room installation. This included installing new electrical connections, new drain and water supply lines, and exterior dryer ducting to properly vent the dryer outside.

With the laundry relocated to the basement, the plumbing connections in the main floor laundry room were capped and the space was redesigned to function as a mudroom. Custom cabinetry was installed to provide storage for coats, shoes, and everyday items, helping keep the home organized. The completed project allows the family to enjoy a dedicated mudroom on the main floor while still maintaining a fully functional laundry setup in the basement, improving both the layout and practicality of the home.

Electric Fireplace Feature Wall with Brick Veneer & Custom Mantel

For this project we built a custom fireplace feature wall designed to house an electric fireplace and create a warm focal point for the room. The new structure was framed and finished to properly accommodate the electric unit while providing a solid base for the surrounding finishes. The fireplace was then covered with brick veneer to give it the timeless appearance of a traditional masonry fireplace while maintaining the efficiency and convenience of an electric unit.

To complete the design, we installed a custom mantel that adds character and provides a natural finishing detail to the feature wall. The finished fireplace creates a strong visual centrepiece in the room, combining the charm of brick with the practicality of an electric fireplace for a comfortable and inviting living space.

Tongue and Groove Cedar Porch Ceiling Installation

For this project we finished an unfinished porch ceiling using tongue and groove cedar, creating a warm and natural look that complements the exterior of the home. The cedar boards were carefully installed to provide a clean, continuous finish while highlighting the natural character and grain of the wood. Tongue and groove cedar is an excellent choice for porch ceilings because it is durable, resistant to moisture, and well suited for outdoor environments.

In addition to improving the appearance of the porch, the finished ceiling adds a more polished and welcoming feel to the home’s front entrance. The completed installation transforms the porch from a basic unfinished space into a refined outdoor area that enhances the home’s curb appeal while providing a finished look that will last for years.
